What can I do when someone is being bullied?

He will be handed over to the Romans, and he will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit upon.

luke 18:32, NLT

The “he” in this passage is Jesus. He is telling his disciples what’s about to happen to him. They didn’t understand it at the time.

Have you ever watched someone be bullied or been bullied yourself? Shame perfectly describes the scene, both the actions of the bully and the feelings of the one being hurt. Jesus took on all of that on the way to the cross and on it.

ACT

If you see a bullying situation, step in knowing love is the way to diffuse it.

pray

God, thank you that Jesus even took on bullying when he died for me. Open my eyes to how I can stop it or prevent it in the lives of those around me.
