What Does Waiting Eagerly for Eternal Hope Look Like?

For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

romans 8:19-21, NLT

Can a tree hope? Can the mountains long? Can birds anticipate? All creation is waiting eagerly.

If a forest can look forward to our freedom from death and decay, then can’t we maintain our hope in an eternity of goodness?

If a river can run knowing that God will restore the worst devastation, then can’t we turn our faces toward him in peace?

If a mountain lion can sense that the world will be set right, then can’t we breathe deep in the knowledge of God’s goodness?
