What must that day between devastation and redemption have been like?

We had hoped he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel. This all happened three days ago.

Luke 24:21, NLT

We had hoped. Three years of miracles and upheaval. The idea of rebellion and the hope of freedom. Then Jesus’ very public death. They must have been reeling, doubting, feeling nauseous with anxiety and disappointment. All must have seemed lost and more than a little frightening. Who would they come for next?

That’s how it looked. That’s what they felt like. But the truth was coming. The Good News was about to hit the streets.
