I love to go for good long, chatty walks with my girlfriends. Several of us live within blocks of each other, and we text the pile of us to see who is available. Within minutes we know who is ready for fresh air.

It doesn’t matter what route we take or how long we’re gone. The conversation never lags, and we rarely stop to look at one another. It’s an easy companionship that can be picked up at any moment. It’s not an effort at all.

But sometimes I think I have to show up a certain way if I’m going to walk in God’s presence. I don’t. We don’t. He knows not only what I’m wearing on the outside but also how I’m doing on the inside. We might as well start clomping along through our day with him, chatting about nothing and everything. He loves to be in every moment of our lives.
