Does God change his mind?
And he said, “O Lord, if it is true that I have found favor with you, then please travel with us. Yes, this is a stubborn and rebellious people, but please forgive our iniquity and our sins. Claim us as your own special possession.”
exodus 34:9, NLT
I was the one willing to go into our boss’s office and talk with her about it. She was annoyed. But I didn’t think she really understood the situation. So, I took a deep breath and calmly and clearly explained. She relented. On a very small scale, I understand Moses’s situation in Exodus.
Can you imagine how Moses must have felt, going to God to ask him to forgive a rebellious group of people? Boss’s office times 1 million! Where he got the courage, I’ll never know. What we do know is that God relented and stayed with his people. Not because of Moses’s smooth talking but because God wants his people near.
To have your people near, there must be forgiveness.
ACT
Plan a dinner party for the people you want near. Notice as you sit around the table that intimacy can’t be there if unforgiveness keeps a seat at the table.

God, please show me where I’ve given unforgiveness a seat at my table.
