Do I See How God Protects Me?
Help me abandon my shameful ways; for your regulations are good.
psalm 119:39, NLT
When we give children rules, it’s almost always for their protection.
“Don’t run with scissors.”
“Don’t touch the fire.”
It’s always been the same with God. His rules and regulations were and are good. We often (always?) need his help in turning away from sin and habits that are shameful. And just like this psalmist, we can ask.
ACT
Somewhere private, make a short list of sins and habits that you know need to go. Look forward to the day God helps you abandon them. When you do, cross them out!
pray
God, it doesn’t always feel like it, but your rules are good for me. Help me to turn away from my sinful ways toward your good ones.
