Why should I study God’s Word?

Almighty God,

I praise you that your Word is a living document, relevant for all people in all times and places. When I read it, you communicate with me. Reading the Bible keeps me in your presence—with you, the one who created me for a purpose, who knows me best, and who can guide me along the best pathway for my life. What a blessing! Soften my heart. Make me receptive to the words recorded in your book so that I will desire to read it daily and will begin to gain comfort, joy, insight, wisdom, knowledge, and the keys to living. I want to experience daily divine moments with you by reading your Word.

Amen

The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.

Psalm 19:7-8, NLT
