I had spent hours cutting out and gluing the tiny pieces of balsam wood together. The shape of an airplane was clear. My father was a modeler, both of trains and airplanes, and this was my attempt at following in his footsteps.

I carefully laid the plane next to me on the couch where I could look at it and admire my handiwork. I stretched my arms overhead, yawning deeply, satisfied with my work. I let them fall to my sides on the couch, crushing my model airplane. Nothing could be done.

Have you ever had something in your life you see being crushed? Hopes and dreams? A relationship? When all you can do is stand by and watch helplessly as it is crushed, seemingly beyond repair.

This verse assures us that not only does God see the crushed things in our lives, but He will see to it our needs and hopes are fulfilled. Our part is usually to have faith that He will do just that, in His way and His time.
