Who is Jesus?
For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Isaiah 9:6, NLT
The Bible is God’s story. Many years prior to Jesus’ birth, the Bible talked about Jesus: God’s Son. Jesus came to earth, and he was both fully God and fully human. He was born over two thousand years ago in Bethlehem. During his life on earth, Jesus accomplished all that God had for him, including dying on the cross in order to bring flawed humans back into relationship with the perfect God, allowing us to enter God’s presence. This is the invitation that you and I can say yes! to: following Jesus. It’s a decision that, once made, promises an abundant life through Christ, one of hope and purpose as we follow him.
The Bible tells us that Jesus will return again someday. The first four books of the New Testament in the Bible tell us about Jesus’ life and ministry on earth as well as his death and his being raised back to life—and why they matter. Jesus’ life story is told from four different perspectives in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Jesus’ life and ministry still impacts the world today. We are invited into his story—God’s story—and we are encouraged to tell others about it and invite them, too. Everyone has an invitation to sit at Jesus’ table. We hope you’ll find your story and purpose in God’s story.

God, I want to know you more. Help me find the answers to the questions I have about Jesus, or help me to answer someone else’s questions so they may live the abundant life through Christ, too.
