Love’s dogged determination to not let go, to not give up, to not be deterred, to keep showing up is more than just stubbornness. Love can see well beyond the here and now to realities that are just beyond our grasp sometimes.

We don’t always respond to God with belief in that kind of love. We want to understand why our reality doesn’t look like what we hoped for. We want to know why the world is turning upside down. We want to see into the future before we hope.

Humanity has always wanted to see into the future, as if that is the solution to our angst. It isn’t. Believing in a God who holds the past, present, and future simultaneously is the solution.
